Introduction

The Solar Water Heating System for the all-weather indoor swimming pool in Sector-1, MDC, Panchkula, was implemented by M/s Intersolar Pvt. Ltd., Chandigarh. The project was officially allotted to the contractor on 13th July 2011 after a satisfactory agreement on the project amount. The main objective of this project was to utilize solar energy to heat water for the indoor swimming pool to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the year.

The all-weather indoor swimming pool in Sector-1, MDC, Panchkula, HUDA (Haryana Urban Development Authority), faced the issue of excessive energy consumption and costs related to pool water heating before installing the solar water heating system. Traditional heating techniques, like using electric or gas boilers, proved costly and unreliable over time. Due to the carbon emissions from conventional heating techniques, excessive energy consumption increased HUDA’s operational costs and affected the environment. The big indoor swimming pool required a sizable amount of heated water to maintain welcoming swimming conditions for guests throughout the year. Solution

Since its installation, the solar water heating system for the indoor swimming pool has been functioning satisfactorily. The structure of the solar water heating system for the all-weather indoor swimming pool in Sector-1, MDC, Panchkula, has been a successful venture. M/s Intersolar Pvt. Ltd. executed the project to the satisfaction of HUDA, providing a sustainable and cost-effective solution for heating the pool water. The utilization of solar energy has reduced operating costs and contributed to promoting renewable energy sources.
